Round 1: 1:30p, Round 2: 2:15p, Round 3: 3:00p, Round 4: 3:45p, Round 5: 4:30p, with awards to follow. Anticipated completion: 5:15p
Sections and Entry Fees with online registration before May 25th:
• Open Rated (Also open to Scholastic players 1000 rated or higher): $25
• Scholastic Rated (K-12 and U1200 or unrated): $20
• Non-Rated (Not USCF rated): $10
Entry Fees increase: $5 more online on tournament day morning and $10 more for walk-in registration
Prizes:
- Open Rated section: A minimum of 60% section entry fees will be returned as cash prizes to top performers including a Best Under 1600 prize
- Scholastic Rated and Non-Rated sections: Trophies and/or medals will be awarded to top performers in these sections.
- All players in the rated sections must have a valid, active USCF membership to play. You can obtain or renew USCF membership with registration online, at the door, or directly from the USCF at uschess.org.
- Attendance will be limited to 60 total players.
- One ½ point bye is allowed. It must be requested prior to round 2 being paired and cannot be changed.
- Scholastic section entrants must be in grades K – 12 and rated under 1200 USCF or be unrated. Over 1200 rated students should register for the Open section. Students rated between 1000 and 1200 may choose either the Scholastic or Adult section.
- These tie break systems will be used for non-cash prize determination if needed: Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative, Cumulative opponent’s score
- Players in all sections are expected to bring their own regulation chess sets and clocks.
- The current Month’s Rating Supplement will be used. The highest of blitz, quick, or regular rating may be used for pairing and prizes at the tournament director’s discretion. An unofficial rating may be used if the player is otherwise unrated.
